Calculate fragrance load for candles
Wax weight x fragrance load = oil weight.
That is the only formula most batches need. The rest is keeping units straight and writing the result on the batch card.
Worked examples
| Wax | Load | Oil | Total batch |
|---|---|---|---|
| 16 oz | 8% | 1.28 oz | 17.28 oz |
| 32 oz | 8% | 2.56 oz | 34.56 oz |
| 907 g | 9% | 81.6 g | 988.6 g |
When the wax supplier lists a maximum load, treat that as the roof. Start lower unless you already know the wax, the oil, and the wick can handle more.
