How do you calculate fragrance load for candles

Start with the wax, choose the percentage, and let the jar count come after that.

It is easier to keep the math clean when the batch is built around total wax weight instead of trying to reverse-engineer each vessel at the end.

Three common examples

  • Four sample tins with 200 g wax total at 8% need 16 g fragrance oil.
  • Eight medium jars with 907 g wax total at 8% need 72.6 g fragrance oil.
  • A restock batch with 1,500 g wax at 9% needs 135 g fragrance oil.
